Well although I believe back home it's snowing and it actually feels like Christmas, over here in the Southern hemisphere, it's all backwards. There is nothing less Christmassy than a 35 degree day. However, I am throwing myself into Christmas in the sun. We have acquired a Christmas tree from Adam's Grandma and his Mum furnished us with some decorations, so we now how a decorated tree. The initial idea had been to get Nevah to help decorate it, she really wasn't interested. I think the Little Mermaid was on TV.
Anyway, here's out tree. The latest addition, which you can just see are the candy canes. They are a 50/50 mix of Hello Kitty and Dora the Explorer canes. Obviously, Dora for Nevah, Hello Kitty for me.
Apart from trying to get ready for a quiet, hot Christmas we haven't been up to much. I am now working 2 jobs. I'm helping out with some marketing 3 days a week, and then just doing some general office work for the other 2. It's not that exciting, but it's paid employment.
Also, the first stage of my visa has been approved. It's probably the easiest stage, and the next one is probably the most important one, but at least now we can get the next stage submitted. We just have to keep our fingers crossed that they get stage 2 back in time for us to submit stage 3 before my current visa expires.
I would also like to take the opportunity for anyone reading this to say I'm not posting back a bunch of Christmas cards. I might send a nice email, but no cards. It would end up costing me about $100 in postage, so that's out I'm afraid. However, that doesn't mean those at home don't have to send them to us. You only have to send one card overseas, that's much more reasonable!
