Nearly unemployed again!

You can tell that I'm nearing the end of another contract and therefore don't have much work to do, as this is the 2nd time this month I've updated. When I'm actually busy I forget to do it! We've had a busy-ish couple of weeks. Well, as busy as it gets for us. First of all we finally got round to going to the shop and buying my bike. It was a gift from Adam for our anniversary. I'm now officially a cyclist. I'm trying to get out every day after work. I've been doing about 12km at least 4 times a week. My bum hurts, but I suppose it'll get easier. There's a great bike track that runs very near our house, so it's easy and safe to cycle around here. I also have a helmet that makes it look like I have half a boiled egg on my head, but that's ok. Adam has borrowed his brothers bike, so expect tales of cycling picnics through the summer (well probably not, but we both have bikes in the courtyard at the moment anyway).
My lovely new bike on it's first outing.
As I said I'm almost at the end of my current contract. The event I have been working on took place on Friday. Despite the fact that we have had less than quarter of the average rainfall this month it managed to rain on my event!! The weather was horrible - windy, rainy and cold. However, we still had over 60 people turn out for our Carnival in the Car Park. Those that turned up enjoyed it and the food was excellent! The Carvnival theme meant we had face painting, games, carnival food, a laughing clowns game, balloon modeling and lots of prizes to win.

The wonderful balloon modeler who taught our guests to model a dog.

On Saturday we took Nevah for her first trip to the zoo. To fill you in on the background of our trip Nevah has a Dora the Explorer book with a story about Diego saving a baby jaguar. Nevah LOVES that story and so we said we would take her to the zoo to see the baby jaguar. Technically the zoo doesn't have a baby jaguar, but they do have an ocelot and a leaopard, and that's close enough for a 2 year old.

We spent most of the day visiting the baby jaguar, but we also managed to look at the monkeys and pat the kangaroos. She had a blast and now won't let anyone else touch her baby jaguar puppet that we bought while we were there.
This picture just makes me laugh.

On Sunday we went for a day trip with Adam's parents to Carrickalinga. Carrick is a really nice seaside town with lots of holiday homes. We had a relaxing day just walking on the beach and eating. We had a short trip to the Lady Bay Golf Course so that Adam could have some driving practice with his new club while the rest of us sat in the club house. However, I should have realised that sitting side on, on a balcony means that only one half of you catches the sun. Basically, I managed to sunburn half of me. So the right side is red, but the rest isn't. It's getting a bit better now, so I don't look quite so ridiculous.
