Back to Work

So, after quitting my job just over a month ago (it's a long story reserved for those like my Mum and Dad who HAVE to listen) I enjoyed 4 weeks of lazing around the house, going to the gym and trying hard to become Nigella Lawson, only less irritating. Then the cooker broke down. Then I got another job. So now I'm back to work.

I am now an Event Support Officer and I am currently organising a Symposium. Believe me it is not nearly as fancy as it sounds. However, the people are nice, the job is quite entertaining and the office has an amazing view of the city. It's just a temp placement so I should be back in my unemployed status fairly soon.

I'd like to say I've got lots to report and we have been very busy. But we haven't. The football season is nearly over and Adam's team got beaten last week which means they are out of the finals. Unfortunately that doesn't mean we don't have to watch anymore football. I did ask, but apparently it doesn't work like that.

We are heading to the Adelaide Show this weekend sometime though (www.theshow.com.au). It's kind of like Turra show only a lot, lot, lot bigger. There are cows and all that stuff (it goes without saying we won't be seeing them), but there is also a carnival and lots of rides. There are numerous bars, of which I am sure we will see almost all of them. But I'm told the big excitement is the show bags. From what I can make out companies make up goody bags of their stuff and then sell them to you cheap. Basically it's a big pavilion full of marketing, however it is tradition and who am I do stand in the way of an Australian tradition.

I have marked out my show bags in the official Show Guide that came with the paper. There's a Hello Kitty one which I'm sure to buy, but the best has to be this one:

It contains: a Hoff t shirt, wig, mug, love dice, stubby cooler, head and wristband set, air freshener, bottle opener and dollar bling necklace and ring. And it's all contained in that lovely bag. What more could you want?

And that's about it for the minute really. We had Nevah on Saturday. It was Adam's turn to run the bath, which explains why in the picture below there are more bubbles than water.
